veteran visits

12 July 2018

In 1974, Aksel G. Schjervheim (Okki) lived in London 2. Thise were the years after the mining accident and before the start as a science town. There were only 6 people in Ny-Ă…lesund. They had to drill a hole, so the ownership of KingsBay as a mining company was secure. They called it a political drill. Okki is from a family with 10 kids and is accompagnied by a younger brother and his sister in law. He tells about a visit of a vomitting Russian who ate his vomit. On leaving, we make a selfie.
