Sea ice in Isfjord

|Maarten is returning home, Dagmar, Elspeth and Suzanne stay behind in Ny-Ålesund. Just before the plane lands in Longyearbyen, there appears a massive amount of ice
in Isfjord, blocking access of boats to Longyearbyen. It is sea ice, originating from Storfjorden and drifting since break-up around the southern tip of Spitsbergen to the north.
The ice is more than a meter thick. Top: picture from the plane. Bottom: view from the depparture hall on the airport.
